IMPACTING CLIMATE
Preparing students for a changing world
Climate change is already affecting the communities where PEAS works, impacting livelihoods, education, and long-term opportunity.
We believe schools have an important role to play in helping young people understand these challenges and build the knowledge, skills, and resilience needed for the future.
Why it matters
Across many of the regions we serve, communities are experiencing the effects of climate change, from changing weather patterns to environmental degradation.
These challenges affect not only the environment, but also school attendance, household stability, and students’ ability to learn.
Equipping young people with environmental awareness and practical skills is an important part of preparing them for what comes next.
Our approach
We integrate climate education and sustainability into our broader education model, ensuring students are both learning about the environment and actively engaging with it.
Climate learning in the classroom
We partner with organizations such as Earth Warriors to deliver climate change education to students in primary school, helping build early awareness and understanding of environmental issues.
Student-led environmental action
Students take part in hands-on activities that bring learning to life.
Tree planting initiatives
School-based environmental projects and upcycling activities
“Go Green Day” events, where students create projects from recycled materials
These experiences help students connect learning with real-world action.
Building habits for the future
Through these programs, students develop a sense of responsibility, problem-solving skills, and practical ways to contribute to their communities.
How this fits within our model
Our climate work is part of how we deliver a well-rounded education.
By integrating environmental awareness into schools and working with partners, we ensure that students are not only academically prepared, but also equipped to navigate and respond to the challenges they will face in the future.
Why it matters
Preparing students for a changing world is essential.
By combining strong schools with practical, real-world learning, we are helping young people build the knowledge, confidence, and resilience they need to thrive
